on Boquete Weather 2007
The
total rainfall recorded in 2007 was 163.3 inches. Although
January and February were not monitored by the station,
based on direct observation, there was negligible rainfall
in those two months. It is safe to assume that the
total rainfall measured represents the total rainfall
for the year 2007.
The "Days
no Rain" means the days when there was no rain
whatsoever recorded by the station. The "Days
with Rain" means that at least some precipitation
occurred but does not indicate the amount that fell.
The
month with the most rain was October with 35.47 and
it rained sometime every day on 28 days of the month.
It is also the month with the highest humidity with
an average of 92.42 percent. The month of May had 30.35
inches of rain and it rained on 27 of the month's days.
The
highest average wind speed of 10.05 mph was recorded
in March with the maximum wind speed of 34.4 mph. "Max
Wind mph" is the highest measured wind for that
month and does not indicate how long the wind was sustained.
Because January and February were not measured, it
is not certain which month actually had the highest
winds. Based upon direct observation for several years,
normally, January and February are very windy and may
be the windiest months. Next years data collection
will help clarify this matter.
One
lesson to be learned from this year's weather data
is that if you are stressed by rainy days, the best
time to take a vacation from the Boquete District is
probably May and/or October. However, don't forget
that there is a reason this place is so beautiful and
it is called "The Rainforest" -- the rain!
